Having hooked up the unit correctly there is very little volume to the sound input even when it is set to maximum. Hope there wasn’t el. What I meant by el. So heres the deal, I moved last weekend and got the computers to the new house. But i cant understand, i dont move my computer any inches, and i dont open its case either. The question about drivers were in case you made PC work and found that sound didn’t work.

Did you check all cards, memory, 4pin CPU connector and other to see if they were well seated? I may try a Linux one, but although I much prefer Linux it doesn’t give and exact comparison to the XP kt4zv I’m working with. A simple test to rule ms Sound card problem would be taking it out to see if PC turns on. IF i dont have thermal paste, will it cause the computer to display that black screen?

It appeared to work for a minute or two and then the problem returned – which seemed very odd, but I presumed I’d been mistaken that things looked to be working OK! Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions they’d be most welcome.

Sudden KT4AV Problem
If I move onto the next page and cause the computer to create an error ding then the feedback between the Recording and Playback causes the level to build unti the volume on the Recording is set to minimum but the levels are still in the red. I’m checking the different parts and i don’t know if leaving teh thermal pad will screw up my results in finding the problem. Like the Dr says.

I have also been into the volume control and added the Microphone to the Playback controls, then muted it as suggested in a Microsoft article relating to Troubleshooting Conferencing Applications. It wasn’t your mobo and probably has nothing to do with your symtoms That said I’m downloading a copy now since it is a while since I took a look at it.
The headphones and my setup has been confirmed on another motherboard which works fine am I allowed to say it is a Gigabyte one here? If the problem is solved, so be it. The mix is connected to the pink audio jack on the motherboard, there are no case connections for audio.
This is even with nothing connected to the sound connectors on the back of the motherboard. What I meant by sounr. The only time I get a significant signal is when there is a sound created by the computer itself to play through the speakers.
It is too late for me to give good advice. Without the processor nothing will happen.
